Finding a reliable house cleaner can be overwhelming with all the research, getting quotes, and meeting for in-home consultations. It can take a lot of your time! That’s why I decided to try Homeaglow, which offers a simpler, more flexible approach to booking cleaning services.

In this review, I’ll walk through the booking process, explain how Homeaglow pricing works, discuss what is covered during a cleaning, and share my personal experience using the platform.

Quick Summary:

Homeaglow is a marketplace that connects customers with independent local cleaners. I found the booking process easy, liked being able to choose my cleaner based on reviews, and appreciated the option to rebook the same person. Since cleaners work independently, experiences may vary.

What Is Homeaglow?

Homeaglow is an online marketplace that connects anyone who needs a cleaning with independent house cleaners in their area.

Rather than functioning like a traditional cleaning company that sends whichever employee is available, Homeaglow allows customers to browse cleaner profiles, read reviews, view ratings, and select a cleaner based on experience and customer feedback.

I really liked the option of being able to read through the cleaners and their reviews and choose my top three.

The platform offers cleaning services for apartments, condos, single-family homes, and other residential properties. You can book a one-time cleaning or a recurring service.

What Does a Homeaglow Cleaning Include?

Cleaning tasks vary by cleaner, which is one reason it’s important to review cleaner profiles and communicate expectations beforehand.

Typical services may include:

  • Dusting surfaces
  • Vacuuming carpets and rugs
  • Sweeping and mopping floors
  • Kitchen cleaning
  • Bathroom cleaning
  • Trash removal
  • General tidying

Some cleaners may also offer additional services, though availability can vary.

Before booking, I recommend reviewing the cleaner’s profile and messaging them if you have specific requests.

How the Homeaglow Booking Process Works

One of the things I liked right away was how straightforward and simple the booking process is.

First, I entered my ZIP code and basic information about my home. They ask things like the size and how often you have it cleaned. This helps the system estimate how long you will need to hire the cleaners for.

I have a four-bedroom, four-bathroom house, but only needed two rooms cleaned. I entered my information, and the time estimate was six hours. You also have the option to add extras such as windows and laundry.

This is where I’d like to provide some insight, because the hourly estimate confused me at first. I regularly have my house cleaned, and it takes about three hours at most. So, six hours seemed excessive.

What I found out after booking and speaking with the cleaner is that a six-hour clean doesn’t necessarily mean someone will be cleaning your house for six hours. It could be two people who take three hours, which is exactly what I usually have, so their time estimate was actually spot-on. Trust the process!

Selecting Your Cleaner

Once you enter your home info, and the date and time you would like your cleaning, the platform displays available cleaners in your area along with their ratings, number of completed jobs, number of rebookings, and customer reviews.

The cleaner profile pages were especially helpful because they provided a sense of each cleaner’s experience level and customer satisfaction history.

I took a lot of time reading the reviews and noticed they were very balanced. Every cleaner had some great ones and some OK ones.

It’s important to understand that Homeaglow itself is not a cleaning company. Instead, it operates as a marketplace that connects customers with independent cleaners in their area.

Because each cleaner works independently, experiences can vary from one booking to the next, making reviews and ratings especially helpful when choosing who to hire.

How Does Homeaglow Pricing Work?

Homeaglow pricing is very upfront, so you know the full cost of exactly what you want done, before booking.

After your service, you will get the invoice showing the amount, along with the option to leave a tip and review your cleaner.

The platform often advertises introductory rates for new customers, although pricing and promotions may change over time.

On my last check, they were offering the amazing deal of three hours of cleaning for $19, which is 75% off the regular price. That is a price that is hard to pass up!

It’s important to note that this special first-cleaning price is for the first cleaning only and requires signing up for the ForeverClean Membership, which auto-renews at $59/month.

With the ForeverClean Membership you can book unlimited additional cleanings at 60% off, starting at just $18/hr.

You must keep the membership for six months to retain that discount. You can cancel early, but then the first clean is charged at the full non-member rate of $35/hr.

The Forever Clean Membership is a substantial savings where you can recoup the cost of membership with one cleaning. Prices vary by location, but using my location as an example: the standard cleaning rate is $49/hr & up, where the membership pricing starts at $18/hr.

Whichever option you choose, the pricing will be clearly provided before you book your service.

My Personal Homeaglow Experience

I booked my cleaning and was assigned a cleaner. A few days before the cleaning, the cleaner reached out by text to ask if I had any special requests, and what exactly I wanted cleaned, so that they could be prepared.

I thought it was really nice that they asked if I wanted the floors steam-mopped or regular-mopped! They mentioned that steam-mopping is good for people who have pets because the floors dry much faster, so I went with steam-mopping.

Then, I confirmed the cleaning time and let them know where to park when they arrived.

Cleaning Day

My cleaners let me know they were ahead of schedule and that they could arrive early if I wanted to get started. That sounded good to me, so we agreed on arrival about an hour early.

They came with all of the cleaning supplies and tools needed, so I didn’t have to provide anything. Although if you are picky about your cleaning products, you do have the option to provide your own supplies.

We started with a tour of the house, pointing out certain things I didn’t want them to miss and others they didn’t need to worry about, like a room that was currently being renovated.

I work from home, so I sat down and got to work, while they went to work on the house.

Before and After cleaning

The Results

The cleaners did a really great job! After they were finished, we did a quick walkthrough to make sure everything was just like I wanted it.

They cleaned everything exactly as I had asked and even pointed out some things I hadn’t thought to mention, like the dusty track lighting in our kitchenette, which probably hadn’t been cleaned since we moved in! I was impressed with their attention to detail.

My newly cleaned lights

They were right about the steam-mopped floors drying quickly. I feel like it also got them extra clean. I walked downstairs to a sparkling clean kitchen, and they even got the glass hood that gets terribly dusty and often overlooked.

Everything looked perfect and smelled great, too. Overall, I was very happy with my cleaning.

Nice and clean!

Wrapping Up: Is Homeaglow Worth It?

For me, Homeaglow’s biggest advantage was flexibility. Being able to pick and choose which days I want my house cleaned works best for my unpredictable, busy schedule.

Also, being able to compare cleaners, read reviews, choose my cleaner, and rebook the same person created a more personalized experience than some traditional cleaning services.

If you prefer having control over the cleaner selection process, flexible scheduling, and value customer reviews when making decisions, Homeaglow may be worth considering.

Overall, Homeaglow offers a convenient way to find local cleaners, and the platform’s review system, cleaner profiles, and rebooking options make it easier to find someone who matches your expectations.

If you are in the market for a new cleaner, I recommend giving it a try!
