Checking Out the New Beach Bowl in Jax Beach

I was excited to check out the newly renovated Beach Bowl in Jacksonville Beach, unfortunately we never even got to bowl! If you go, be prepared to wait. And wait. And wait…

It was a Tuesday afternoon around 4PM when we checked in and were told it would be a two hour wait. We optimistically put in our name and headed to the game room. The game room is mostly the kind of games where you earn tickets to turn in for prizes.

We got a game card for $20 and proceeded to burn through it pretty fast. My son turned his tickets in for a few pieces of candy. We checked again on the wait time and were told it would be EVEN longer.

Determined not to give up, we decided to get food.

Games, Food, Still No Bowling at Beach Bowl

They have a pretty good menu and drink selection with a full bar at Beach Bowl. They also have a good deal for the kid’s meals, although they ran out of ice cream and didn’t have enough for the four kids at our table.

I did really enjoy my meal. I ordered the Three Little Pigs pork tacos, and the portion was a good size, and everything was delicious. So at least there was that. My son also enjoyed his cheese pizza.

The service was a bit slow, but they haven’t been open long, so that’s to be expected. And we weren’t in a hurry, so we managed to take up a good amount of time.

By then it was 6:30, so we checked again on the wait time and were told it would be ANOTHER two hours.

It was at this point the person at the desk said the first 14 lanes were taken up by private parties and they were only working with six lanes.

I understand they are new, very popular and very busy. But this is information they could have been upfront with in the first place.

The place was packed with people waiting! We finally gave up, told the kids we’d have to try again later and went home.

My friend texted me at 8:30 PM to let me know they called to tell her our lane was ready. LMAO

We will try again sometime, maybe earlier in the day. Who knew Tuesday afternoon was going to be a such a popular day for parties?

The place looks great, and the bowling part looked fun from what I saw. They mentioned they may be adding lane reservation capabilities to their website, which would be a good idea.

But until then, just be prepared to wait if you check out the new Beach Bowl in Jacksonville Beach.
